The device

What does CleverPoint 4 record?

Seven channels on one clock. One skin electrode on the left forearm or the back of the left hand records the ECG. Six dry Ag/AgCl electrodes on the forehead and cheekbones (F7, AF3, AF4, F8 and both zygomatic points) record EEG together with eye movements and facial muscle activity, as every electrode on the face does. The default rate is 500 Hz, up to 1 kHz, 24-bit. The device

Which headset does it work with?

Meta Quest 3. CleverPoint 4 replaces the headset's face interface, so the person puts on one device, not two.

How was the device itself tested?

On a bench with a signal generator, then on people. Test signals from 4 to 46.5 Hz come through on every channel at 1 µV and at 100 µV over a flat noise floor. From 10 µV, the range of scalp EEG, the module returns 80 % of the input amplitude or more, and 98 % at 100 µV. On people, electrodes placed at O1 and O2 follow a 10 Hz light flicker, the ECG shows the full PQRST shape, and blinks and forehead muscle activity appear where expected. Device validation

Is CleverPoint 4 meant for medical use?

No. CleverPoint 4 is not a medical device. It is built for research, training and non-medical assessment.

Stressonika

How long does the test take?

About 25 minutes in the headset. Across 2,879 recorded sessions the median is 23.7 minutes; nine sessions in ten take 22.4 to 25.6.

What does the person do in the headset?

Paced breathing with eyes open and then closed, finger tapping, two Stroop tasks, five Schulte tables and the Banana test, with two quiet rest breaks and three short self-ratings in between. The protocol, section by section

Who runs the test?

An operator at the PC starts the session in EVA and watches the signal. The order, the voice instructions and the timing are built into the test, so every person goes through the same session. Basic training is online and included.

In which languages?

The test runs in English, French, Greek, Polish and Russian. The person's and the specialist's sections of the report are in English, Polish and Russian.

Can a person steer the result?

Partly. A person can hold back on a task or change how they breathe. The heart answers do not rest on what the person says about themselves, and the tasks are timed and scored by the software.

Can an employer or a school use Stressonika?

Only in voluntary programmes where the results go to the person and the specialist they work with, not to the employer or the teacher, and cannot affect hiring, assessment, promotion or grades. Stressonika is not meant for hiring, for monitoring employees or for assessing students.

The report

What is the difference between a trait and today's state?

A trait repeats when the same person comes back on another day: how fast they switch into load (ICC 0.64 [0.54; 0.72]) and how fully they switch off afterwards (ICC 0.70 [0.55; 0.81]). Today's state repeats less: whether the person switched to rest in the breaks, and at what cost they got through the session. The report names each for what it is and never merges them into one label.

What is the reserve age?

Not a health age: the age at which people in our data typically show heart responses like the person's, shown as a range next to the calendar age. Its difference from calendar age repeats on another day at ICC 0.65 [0.54; 0.73].

Does the report compare sessions?

Yes. Each new session is shown next to the person's previous one, and a change is called a change only when it is larger than the smallest real change for that measure, taken from people tested twice months apart.

Who sees which part of the report?

The person sees plain words and a few things to try. The specialist (psychologist or coach) sees the four answers with the observations behind them. The physiologist sees the numbers, the beat-to-beat series and the signal-quality notes. The person's part opens to them only when the specialist releases it. The report

What does the report not do?

No diagnoses. No risk scores. The report describes how one body met one standard load, and how that compares with the database and with the person's last session.

Validation

How do you know the numbers repeat?

201 people came back for another session. On 175 pairs recorded on different days (171 of them adults), a median of 202 days apart, we computed the intraclass correlation ICC(2,1) with 95 % bootstrap intervals. The two heart traits reach 0.64 and 0.70, the breathing range 0.73, Schulte search speed 0.80. All measures

What do these ICCs mean for one person?

The second session came months later, a median of 202 days, so the ICC includes everything that changes in a person over half a year as well as measurement error. Within one session the same recovery measure repeats at 0.72–0.96. For each measure we also publish the smallest real change for one person, larger than 95 % of the differences between two sessions months apart, and the report uses it when it compares sessions. The table

Who is in your data?

3,488 sessions from 3,176 people, recorded from 2021 to 2026 at 6 sites. About half are teenagers aged 12–17; 1,557 are adults aged 18–65. The full breakdown

Are the norms built for my age?

Switching into load and switching off hardly change with age, so one scale serves every adult. Measures that do change with age, such as the breathing range, are read within the person's age group. Where an age group is small, as above 55, the nearest group's norm is used.

Are your formulas published?

Not publicly. The methods, the reliability tables and the way the norms are built are set out in a methods note for customers and reviewers, under a non-disclosure agreement. The thresholds are fixed, so the same recording always gives the same report.

Data and privacy

Where are the recordings stored?

On your PC. EVA writes the raw files to your disk, and the report is built there as well. A web account for clients is an option, not a requirement.

Do the files contain names?

No. Names stay in EVA's client list on your PC; the raw recordings carry only a random session identifier.

Can I get the raw data?

Yes: all seven channels as CSV, with a JSON file of the session's sections. Get a sample recording

Ordering

How do I order?

On the order form: choose the package, and we contact you within one working day. No call is needed. Order

Is there an annual fee?

Not for academic use: universities and research institutes pay once, and the software comes with the device, for as many workstations as they need. For commercial use, contact us about the terms.

Still a question? Ask it on a call, or write.
